TORONTO, July 30, 2020 — Medcan, Canada’s leading health and wellness provider, is delighted to announce its partnership with TIFF to plan for a safe Festival 2020.

The partnership sees TIFF relying on guidance from Medcan’s medical advisory services team to minimize COVID-19 risk. Using best practices developed from Medcan’s experience advising some of the country’s largest companies as they navigate the global pandemic, Medcan’s occupational health experts will support TIFF in the delivery of a safe and successful Festival 2020. The Medcan partnership also is designed to inspire confidence in TIFF audiences that the context of COVID-19 has been thoroughly contemplated.

Medcan will be working with TIFF to help ensure that Festival venues and workplace practices meet and exceed public health guidelines. (The presentation of TIFF’s traditional in-person film festival will be contingent on the Province’s reopening framework.)

“TIFF is the cornerstone of Toronto’s $2-billion-a-year film industry and the physical event generates more than $200 million in economic activity for the surrounding region,” said Medcan CEO Shaun Francis. “Medcan is delighted to be able to provide its guidance to ensure the event runs as smoothly and safely as possible this year as well.”

“We are so fortunate to have Medcan as one of our partners,” says Laura Ryan, Vice President, Visitor Experience at TIFF. “We are confident in Medcan’s medical advisory services team to help us minimize COVID-19 risks and deliver a successful Festival.”

“Medcan’s team of more than 90 physicians and occupational health experts have provided medical advisory services to everyone from global professional services firms to blue-chip restaurant corporations,” said Medcan Chief Product and Revenue Officer Andrew Zimakas. “We draw on our industry experience to help our partners navigate COVID-19, manage organizational risk, and instill trust in employees and clients.”

With its Safe at Work System and medical advisory services, Medcan works with partners to keep their workforces and customers healthy and feeling confident to perform their jobs. The company also provides partners with on-site health care workers and guidance on diagnostic assessment and containment practices.

Medcan provides services that inspire our clients to live well, for life. During our more than 30 years in operation, Medcan has become the nation’s largest provider of health inspiration, partnering with our 50,000 clients to set and achieve health and wellness goals both in-person and virtually.
