A highly detailed and comprehensive picture of your baseline health

The Annual Health Assessment goes significantly deeper than a traditional physical. It prioritizes early detection of disease and risk factors focusing on five key pillars called Medcan’s Vital Five: Heart, Mind, Movement, Metabolic, and Cancer. In one day, you will complete up to 15 screening stations with analysis of more than 100 biomarkers in our welcoming, thoughtfully curated environment that feels more like a spa than a clinic. 

All tests are completed on site in one day, rather than going to multiple locations and testing centers. Through our in-house laboratory and team of radiologists, we are able to analyze your results while you’re here so you can receive them same-day. At the end of your appointment, you will meet with the Medcan physician leading your assessment for an in-depth consultation to review your results in detail. You’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions about your health and receive personalized recommendations to help you take action where it’s needed most to support both your short- and long-term health.

Your assessment is completed in a single-day appointment, in either our Toronto or Oakville location, and typically takes about 5 to 6 hours. By bringing together physician evaluations, bloodwork, imaging, fitness assessments, and specialist consultations in one visit, the Annual Health Assessment helps eliminate the need to coordinate multiple appointments across different providers and locations. 

Your results are reviewed with you before you leave Medcan. At the end of your appointment, a Medcan physician will walk you through your findings, explain your Medcan Health Score, and provide personalized recommendations and next steps. Following your appointment, your results will also be available through the secure myMedcan portal for future reference and year-over-year tracking. If additional tests are ordered by the physician during your appointment based on the results from one of the standard evaluations, those results may not be available until several days after your assessment. 

The cost of an Annual Health Assessment is $4075 plus tax. The Annual Health Assessment may be eligible for reimbursement through a Health Spending Account (HSA), depending on your plan's provisions, coverage, and available balance. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm your eligibility and reimbursement criteria.
