Allison Hazell, CGC
Head of Clinical InnovationAllison Hazell is a clinical leader specializing in genomics, with a specific interest in building cutting-edge programs that prioritize precision health, using evidence-based innovation. With a background as a certified Genetic Counsellor from both the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) and the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors (CAGC), she brings a unique combination of clinical expertise and strategic leadership to advancing genomic medicine.
She has played a leading role in shaping the future of precision health in Canada, serving as a Co-Investigator on the Personal Genome Project Canada and as Past President of the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors.
At Medcan, Allison spearheaded the launch of the multi-cancer early detection (MCED) program and Canada’s first proactive whole genome sequencing clinical offering. She also helped develop Medcan’s Proactive Genetic Screening program, which earned the prestigious “Innovation in Healthcare Delivery” award from Johns Hopkins.
She is passionate about advancing high-quality, personalized care and continues to lead initiatives that bring the promise of precision health into clinical practice.
